This morning I went to the Diagnostic lab to have my blood samples taken for my routine annual check. I walked into the reception waiting to be seen. While I waited, I walked around the room reading posters, CDC guidelines and many other medical notices plastered on the wall, as you would see in a medical environment. There was a particular poster that caught my eye, a non-medical one which I found a bit unusual in such an environment. I read it the first time and, I thought to myself “what a beautiful piece”. I read it a second time, then a third time and each time I read it, I felt reassured, loved and hopeful. I say “Hopeful”, because it reminded me that despite the chaos around us, someone somewhere could take the time to pen down such beautiful words of encouragement and prayer that would inspire another to look forward to living another day. It shows that there is still kindness in the world.
I don’t know who wrote it but I am certain they won’t mind me sharing it on this platform for others to read and also be encouraged by it. Who ever wrote this may be unknown to me but from the words penned down, I know it is someone with love and kindness in their heart. Here it is:
A Blessing
May you recognize in your life the presence, power and, light of your soul.
May you realize that you are never alone, that your soul in its brightness and belonging, connects you intimately with the rhythm of the universe.
May you have respect for your own individuality and difference.
May you realize that the shape of your soul is unique, that you have a special destiny here, that behind the facade of your life there is something beautiful, good and, eternal happening.
May you learn to see yourself with the same delight, pride and expectation with which God sees you in every moment.
-Unknown.
From my lips to God’s ears and to mine, Amen to that!!
